Our take.

Rocket League looked like the kind of dumb idea that should have been fun for a weekend. Instead, my friend and I ran it on an ancient PC in split-screen and somehow found a game we could keep improving at for years. At first you can barely hit the ball; then the controls click, ranked opens up, and you realise how absurdly high the ceiling is. Few video games feel this close to actually learning a sport.
